Quality fast food at a great price is the foundation of Taco Bell. The company offers a menu that is unlike any other fast food menu. Taco Bell does not offer burgers and fries many fast food places offer. Instead, the company serves a menu full of Mexican-inspired dishes such as tacos, burritos and rice, as well as chips and queso.
In 1962, the first Taco Bell was opened in Downey, California by Gen Bell. By 1964, the first Taco Bell franchise location was opened. The company quickly found a following and by 1967, more than 100 stores had opened in the western United States. In 1978, Taco Bell was sold to PepsiCo. Taco Bell has expanded to include locations throughout the United States, as well as in several countries around the world.
